Savory Oatmeal With Caramelized Onions

· Purple onions


· Butter

· Eggs

Dry Seasonings:

· Salt

Dry Ingredients:

· Rice wine vinegar

· Fish sauce

· Soy sauce

· Oats of your choice

Phase one: Begin by boiling your water with salt, a splash of rice wine vinegar, fish sauce, soy sauce and a dash of sugar. Add in rolled or quick cooking oats and allow the oats to absorb the water (but not so much that it’s mushy).

Phase two: Melt half a stick of butter in a pan and lightly caramelized chopped purple onions until nice and frothy. Then, drain the onions and set aside. Pour the butter from the onions and a bit more water onto the oats until they are your desired starchiness.

Plating: Top the bowl with some runny hard boiled eggs and your caramelized onions!
